GCU's SFD helps Mackie's of Scotland prioritise environmental improvements

Sustainable Food & Drink (SFD) have been working with Mackie's of Scotland to help them understand their corporate carbon footprint and develop an informed strategy for improving their environmental performance. To mark the completion of this project, SFD and Mackie's are hosting an environmental good practice visit food and drink manufacturers to Mackie's ice-cream factory and farm. The collaboration does not end here and the organisations are exploring other opportunities, such as a student project to investigate whether it is possible to harness the energy from cows walking to the self-service milking units to power the units.
