Eurocode 3 (BSEN1993) Design of Steel Structures

The Eurocode 3 online training course will help experienced engineers work with and understand the new structural design eurocodes to apply this knowledge to their working life. The school of the Built and Natural Environment at Glasgow Caledonian University recommends 2 half day CPD programmes.
Eurocodes are recognised as being a significant change from the traditional design codes Engineers have previously worked with.
Is the change so much of a difference or is a fear of the unknown?
Aims and Objectives of the Eurocode 3 course
Explore BSEN1993 Design of Steel Structures
- Samples of designing simple beams and an overview of columns including allowances for buckling.
- Classification of sections and defining the bending and shear resistance associated with each classification.
- Determining deformation limits for steel beams complying with national limits.
- Consideration of connections and the effects of fixity on structural stability checks.
Before undertaking the Eurocode 3 online training course
It is recommended that prior to undertaking the Eurocode 3 course users have experience in designing structures to BS5950, BS5368 and BS8110 or BS5400 standards.
