To help experienced engineers understand the application of these new structural design codes 2 half day CPD programmes are proposed by the school of the Built and Natural Environment at Glasgow Caledonian University. It is recommended that those attending have experience of use of EC2 and 3 as they are an inherent part of EC4.
What you will learn with the Eurocode 4 course
- Explore BSEN1994 Design of Composite Structures, Samples of designing simple slabs and beams working compositely
- Consideration of the methods used to design the arrangement dependant on the construction method, i.e. if the beam is propped or not while the concrete deck is being cast.
- Consideration on the design of shear connection between the steel and concrete components.
